Next to Parker, Waterman is the largest fountain pen manufacturer in the world. The fountain pen capillary system was invented by Lewis Edson Waterman. This system ensures that the ink in the pen flows smoothly towards the tip.

In addition to fountain pens, Waterman also markets ballpoint pens, rollerballs and mechanical pencils. A Waterman pen is characterized by its exclusive and innovative designs.

C. Josef Lamy, former Parker sales representative, founded his own fountain pen factory in 1930. Lamy is the German market leader in luxury writing instruments.

The Lamy pen is characterized by its innovative, modern design and affordability. Another special fact is that all Lamy fountain pens are tested by the factory before they go to the retailer. In addition to fountain pens, Lamy also offers ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils and rollerballs.

Montblanc is a German fountain pen manufacturer which was founded in 1906 but has only carried this name since 1910. The Meisterstück fountain pen was launched in 1924. This was the best model of Montblanc and was produced in different versions in the following years. Montblanc pens are known for their elegant and personal style.

In 1983 Montblanc made an 18 carat gold fountain pen, the Meisterstück Solitaire 149. This was the most expensive pen in the world at the time. In 1994 an even more expensive pen was made, the Meisterstück Solitaire Royal. This pen consisted of 4810 diamonds.
