  • This Writers Edition is an ode to Arthur Conan Doyle. He was the British writer that crafted the most famous character in the world of crime fiction, Sherlock Holmes.

Due to the grand success, Montblanc has combined all experts to design the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle collection. This line represents London and its dark foggy streets in which Holmes always resolves its cases.

Moreover, the pen's brown body is decorated with a plaid pattern that refers to Holmes' coat, but it also contains a historic map of the city of London. The color of the body refers to his brown smoking pipe.

Joseph Bell's initials are engraved under the PVD coated clip, who was the true inspiration for the creation of the famous literary character. The clip reflects his magnifying glass. As for the nib, it is made of Au750 solid gold and contains a special engraving of Sherlock Holmes with flying dinosaurs from "The Lost World".

Each pen in the collection is handcrafted and therefore truly luxurious and unique.

A new addition to the Great Characters collection by Montblanc. This time, a tribute to Walt Disney, who's name is forever connected to the art of animation video and the American film history. • With the Montblanc Masters of Art Homage to Vincent van Gogh Limited Edition 4810, Montblanc celebrates Vincent van Gogh, one of the most popular painters of the late 19th century. This edition especially emphasises his time in Arles with design details reflecting the Provencal wheatfields and one of his most famous paintings, “Sunflowers”.

The engraved 1888 on the barrel ring - next to Vincent's signature in bright orange - commemorates the year when he moved to Arles. While the barrel is decorated in shades of yellow and orange reflecting the sun-drenched landscapes of southern France, the famous series of five sunflower paintings inspired the interpretation embossed on the handcrafted Au 750 solid gold, rhodium-coated nib.

Van Gogh developed a looser, freer style and becoming equally competent with brush and palette knife – which he used for chunky, impetuous “impasto” work. His palette knife inspired the platinum-coated clip, while his sweeping brushwork is immortalised in the yellow lacquer of the cap top. Furthermore, his fondness for pipe smoking, to which he referred in many of his self-portraits, is captured in a subtle detail of the clip: the upper part is shaped like a pipe’s bowl and filled with yellow precious resin.

As homage for Vincent's fascination of traditional Japanese woodblock prints, the overall shape is inspired by a Japanese woodcutting knife while the cap is made from wood.

The edition is crowned by a Montblanc emblem made of yellow precious resin.

  • Great artists throughout history have expressed the human experience in a universal language of form and beauty. The Montblanc Masters of Art Collection honours their immortal contribution to the quest for perfection in art – a quest Montblanc both celebrates and participates in.

One artist whose vision helped shape Viennese Art Nouveau and the Golden Age is Gustav Klimt. The Montblanc Masters of Art Homage to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 4810 celebrates his artistic beginnings in the Vienna Secession and highlights elements from his masterpieces Pallas Athene and The Kiss in its design. In his rebellion against stereotypical concepts in art and society, Gustav Klimt was a pioneer of the avant-garde. He fused realistic representation, ornamentation and abstraction in a style that reached its culmination in his large-format, subtly sensual paintings of women.

One of his frst paintings to place equal value on the ornament and the sitter was a portrait from 1902 of his partner and muse Emilie Flöge, depicted in a dreamy, almost mystical blue. This artwork provided the blue tone used in the Montblanc Masters of Art Homage to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 4810.

The circles, swirls, triangles and lines shimmering through the translucent, dark-blue lacquer of the writing instrument come from his famous painting The Kiss, in which two lovers seem to dissolve into ornamental, geometric forms through the power of emotion. Composed of translucent blue lacquer and yellow gold-coated hammered metal, the cap and barrel of the writing instrument make effective use of complementary colours in reference to the famous works of Gustav Klimt's Golden Phase, including Adele Bloch-Bauer I, the Stoclet Frieze and The Kiss.

Klimt used a new technique to enrich his colours with individual sections of gold leaf, creating the impression of precious stones set in gold. In the Limited Edition 4810, the yellow gold-coated hammered cone is set with a synthetic green spinel, the colour evoking spring, the season of new beginnings. Klimt's Secession monogram, a gold-coloured tampon print of his initials, GK, refers to his achievements for the Vienna Secession.

The clip of the Homage to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 4810 is specially designed with reference to Gustav Klimt’s Pallas Athene. Since Athena is the goddess of both warfare and the arts, she is depicted launching the struggle for artistic freedom. The slightly curved lines ending in three spirals on the yellow gold-coated clip correspond to the decoration on the forged metal frame.

The handcrafted solid Au 750 yellow gold nib is finely engraved with an owl, which symbolised knowledge, wisdom and insight and was considered the faithful companion animal of the Greek goddess Athena. The engraving is both a reference to Gustav Klimt's painting of Pallas Athena and to the Secession building, whose side facades are decorated with owl sculptures.

  • Every year since 1992, Montblanc has honoured an influential patron of art from the antiquity to the 20th century, with a limited edition writing instrument. Every Patron of Art Limited Edition underscores Montblanc’s belief that arts and culture are an essential part of any thriving society and can only flourish with the support of dedicated patrons. For its 30th (1992 – 2022) and final edition, Montblanc created a double edition, celebrating the lives and legacy of British monarch Victoria and her consort Albert.

This writing instrument marks the early years of the royal couple with a barrel in pearl-white lacquer, a symbol of purity and youth, and a cone embellished with a traditional Victorian pattern as well as the entwined “V&A” monogram, in which the couple liked to unite their initials.

The edition dedicated to Victoria features a cap in translucent mint-green lacquer, one of her favourite colours to wear. The decorative pattern visible beneath the lacquer of the cap is inspired by the fence surrounding the Albert Memorial in Kensington Gardens, London. The cap is adorned by a royal-blue crown and the Montblanc emblem in precious resin. The words “I will be good” are engraved on the cap ring. The shape of the clip is inspired by her sceptre with a green stone referring to her engagement ring from Albert. The handcrafted Au 750 solid gold, champagne-tone gold-coated nib is decorated with a stylised rose that represents Queen Victoria, who is still remembered today as ‘England’s Rose’.

The writing instrument is restricted to 4810 pieces, which represents the height of the Mont Blanc mountain in metres.

  • The Montblanc Patron of Art Edition in 2022 is dedicated to Queen Victoria & Prince Albert. The Limited Edition 888 is a remarkable couple edition, one edition honors Queen Victoria and the other one her consort Prince Albert. This writing instrument is dedicated to Albert.

The fountain pen comes with a cap and barrel made from red translucent lacquer and a solid Au 750 signature gold skeleton overlay. The skeleton is inspired by her coronation collar and her monogram while the red is inspired by her coronation dress. The fittings are platinum-coated. The clip shape is a tribute to her scepter while the green Tsavorite is a homage to her engagement ring. The cap top is inspired by a royal crown and is adorned with the Montblanc emblem made from mother-of-pearl.

While the cap ring bears the engraving of "Albert" and their wedding date just like a wedding band, a special engraving decorates the cone. As a homage to Victoria's nickname "England's rose", the handcrafted solid Au 750 gold bi-color nib bears an embossing of a rose. With signature gold and/or signature gold-coating, Montblanc describes the enlightened shade of yellow gold which has become an appreciated tone for the Maison’s Writing Instruments.

  • Since its launch in 1924, Montblanc's Meisterstück has been widely regarded as the quintessential fine writing instrument, symbolizing refined taste and a bold extension of oneself. Whether used to pen a love letter or sign a historical document, the Meisterstück has left an indelible mark on the pages of history.

To honor this milestone, Montblanc delved deep into its archives and created the Origin collection, paying homage to the brand's rich history and heritage. The collection draws inspiration from early designs found in our archives, as well as design features featured on the earliest Meisterstück editions, capturing the founding spirit and infusing it with a modern flair.

The intricate pattern on the gold-coated cap and barrel, partially coated with coral-coloured lacquer, harks back to an unreleased design that had been hidden away for decades, giving Montblanc the opportunity to finally introduce this long-forgotten design reminiscent of the Art Déco period.

The clip is an homage to early clip shapes found in some of the first Meisterstück writing instruments, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Upon closer inspection, one can discover the original Meisterstück logo, which has adorned the cap as a symbol of high quality since its inception.

This jubilee edition is decorated with a special cap ring showing the years 1924 and 2024 . Here's to another 100 years of excellence with Meisterstück!

About the Montblanc pen

In 1906, the Hamburg banker Alfred Nehemias and the Berlin engineer August Eberstein came up with the idea for a new fountain pen. It was to be the epitome of simplicity, easy to handle, and simple to use. This new pen has a built-in ink reservoir, which soon made messing about with ink and inkwells a thing of the past. After about two years, the company of Nehemias and Eberstein was taken over by Wilhelm Dziambor, Christian Lausen, and Claus Johannes Voss. For the time being, the company was called Simplo Filler Pen Co.; it was not until 1909 that the name Montblanc was linked to the company and in 1910 it was registered as a trademark under that name.
