The Aurora Optima 365 fountain pen in yellow Auroloide is a limited edition that was created in honour of the year 2020. For each day of the year Aurora created one pen. The design is an eyecatcher, just like we expect from Aurora. The contrast between the black tips and the yellow body makes for a unique appearance. 

The writing instrument has a unique number (../365) engraved in the cap and comes with a premium giftbox with a bottle of ink. The fountain pen features an 18kt gold nib and makes use of a piston filling mechanism.

The annual release of Sailor's colored ebonite series this year is 'SYOKEI', which means Admiration. The Urushi artist, Wayo Shimamori has developed the ‘Irogasane Sabinuri’ technique to create the 88 pieces of each color worldwide.

This writing instrument is inspired by special spiritual concepts from ancient Japan.

What makes the Wabi Sabi pens extraordinary is the special attention to detail in the process of crafting the writing instruments by hand. At first, a Urushi undercoat is applied. When the layer has dried, its suface is polished until smooth and thereafter the Sabi layer is applied. This is polished and applied again to create the illusion of roughness. Lastly, several more layers of Urushi are applied and polished for color and a metallic look.

The pen comes in a beautiful wooden box with converter, ink cartridges, duster and certificate. The pen has a large 21kt gold nib, available in sizes Medium or Broad.

Sailor's factory in Kure, Hiroshima, where the Sailor Pen Company was founded, will be reconstructed and completed in autumn 2022. Some of the previous factory buildings were more than 70 years old. The trees on the side of the factory were also more than 60 years old. 

With the reconstruction of the factory, a new usage for the trees are found. Specifically, the wood is processed into the barrel in order to reuse the material and create extraordinary fountain pens.

The Commemorative Fountain Pen for Rebuilding Hiroshima Factory is a Limited Edition, with only 40 pieces available in Europe.

The pen has a Medium 21 carat solid gold nib and is laser engraved with special characteristics of this fountian pen. Furthermore, the pen can be used with a converter or ink cartridges.

Sailor introduces this Limited Edition and its fourth pen in the Samurai series: the 'Battle of Ujigawa'!

Fought in January 1184 in the defense of ancient Kyoto, this famous influential battle took place on the Uji river. Samurai warriors on horseback from both sides confronted each other through and over a very 'swollen' Uji river. The victorious Samurai army of Minamoto no Yoshitsune regained control of the capital for the ruling Heike family, defeating the unpopular Kiso Yoshinaka.

This Limited Edition is made by famous Maki-e (Urushi) artist Ikki Moroike. Only 33 pieces of this Limited Edition have been made.

The fountain pen is made of ebonite and is equipped with a 21k rhodium plated gold nib. We have one piece available in medium.
